A group of us are in the works of putting together a Republican newspaper that will be distributed monthly to a few college campuses in Southern California and hopefully by mail too Why bother with a printed version? You should make it internet only. That way, campus leftists won't be able to destroy all your physical copies, and you would have a cost advantage over the "official" campus newspaper.

OK, I really hope you are not a Zotee, because I will now share with you the name of my underground newspaper which I published in HS, and I still think it is a great name for a newspaper: THE LOBBY.
It's a long story, but it's a good name.

As for other advice, at least occasionally be sorrowful over the follies of the left instead of scornful.
I took that tactic in the one piece I wrote for the U. Penn conservative alternative paper (I think it was called the Red and Blue, after Penn's colors), when I was in grad school. I was told Bill Kristol though it was the best piece in the opening issue, a compliment I have cherished ever since.
Also, be literate: shame the left with the quality of your prose. Don't talk over the head of your readership, but do assume they are intelligent and moderately well read.

Although some WILL be trashed, it probably is worth publishing a paper edition as well....just make sure you put out only a few at a time, refill the bin frequently.
The same logic works for retail stores--yes, some goods are shoplifted or vandalized but enough get into the right hands that it makes it profitable.
Put me on your ping list, please.

It will maximize liberal readership, who should be the target audience anyway.
Conservatives will recognize the "Truth" of the matter.

Have you gotten in contact with the people at the Collegiate Network? They were very helpful when I was working at a conservative weekly in the 1980s.

A few suggestions.
Don't make it a "Republican" paper, make it a "conservative" paper. Don't let yourselves become apologists when the GOP makes mistakes.
Get in some good humor and entertainment stuff. People will pick up the paper for those bits and some will read the political stuff.
If you want to do something really over the edge. Remember that you will be held to a higher standard than any liberal publication. Make sure you can stand behind everything you print, news, commentary or humor.
