Uh oh..
Yeah, this the Department of Homeland Security, what's that you said...?
Wasn't the Mariel boat lift in the early 1980s? Have they been in American prisons that long?
Yup. Castro sent the nastiest of nasty characters over here.
I wish the US had someone to dump their dregs on!!
We're still holding them? Hasn't it been 20 years or so?

In and out. Your tax dollars at work!
HMMM How bouts we dump em on Mexico. Middle of the night type thing.
We do, send 'em back to Guantanamo, where they are immediately escorted from ship to front gate and tossed out. End of story.
Won't happen.
25 years! The problem should pretty well be resolved in another 20 or 30 years.
Oh, I know, but it is the best solution. We're kicking them out of our country, sending them to their homeland, where they can easily melt back in (no language problems) and they are once again, Castro's headache and an additional strain on his system.
Where do you see any USSC involvement in this.
Anyway if they have been imprisoned for 20 yrs they have already served more time that American prisoners for any crime including murder.

They'd be back in a week or two.
150 detainees freed; more expected soon (some are 1980 Mariel Boat Lift Prisoners)

I second the Send 'em to Guantanamo Prison Motion!
The international outcry would force us to release them back to Castro!
Thanks, SCOTUS!
You forgot to thank Jimmy Carter.
Thanks, Jimmuh! You too Rosalyn.
Wow 25 years in the clink.
The most noteworthy part of this photo, IMO, is that Rosalyn dressed up for Fidel instead of wearing one of tacky house dresses from Woolworth's that she favored as first lady.
