The battle against radical Islam is definately a battle of survival.
How we conduct ourselves in that battle will have bearing on who will be our allies and who will be our enemies.
Making enemies out of potential allies without good cause is the stupid part.
Nothing productive is going to come out of flushing a Koran down a toilet. Just don't do it.

I somehow missed the outrage from the Arab world whenever some innocent contractor gets beheaded or they blow up a bunch of people just trying to get a job and get their country back on track. I'm so sick of their one sided bullshit. Piss on them.

And how does flushing a copy of the Koran down a toilet address the issue of terrorists beheading people?
That's just the least of it. When we were stationed there in 1980-82, there was a rather sizeable Catholic community, composed of Americans, Europeans, Eritreans and Filipinos. The ONLY place Mass could be celebrated was on an Embassy ground, and at one point, the Interior Minister, a prince, shut down the Masses at the Belgian Embassy. From that point on, only the U.S. Embassy was able to host a very limited number of communicants in the auditorium. There were two priests to serve the entire community, one American and one Filipino. Just before we left, the Saudi government pulled the visas for both priests. We couldn't call them "priests," but had to call them "welfare officers"; we couldn't call them "father" but had to address them as "uncle." There was a team at Lockheed City composed of lay people who filled in for the priests. My loathing for all things Saudi is deep and abiding.
Contrast my friend, contrast. Do you see Americans taking to the streets and saying "death to Muslims" and burning their country's flag? What do you consider the worst crime, beheading innocent people or flushing a Koran down the toilet?

Beheading innocent people is the worse crime.
It simply doesn't justify flushing a Koran down the toilet.
Flushing the Koran down the toilet is offensive to all Muslims, not just the radicals who use that faith to justify attrocities.
It just a pointless broadening of hostile feelings to a wider group.
It's never pointless to use whatever weapons work against the enemy.

I'd rather not use rules that gain us more enemies. We have plenty as it is. I'd rather stick with enemies that hate us because we push for freedom and self determination, not enemies that hate us because we do something offensive.
