So, it's a future problem as well as a current problem.

Let me suggest that the masquerading socialist we have as a President has engineered this debacle to lead conservatives astray. He has pulled the brakes off the railroad car, and told us that he plans to move it uphill. But, he has no visible means of accomplishing that, so instead it will naturally roll downhill and we will see a nice big tax hike to plug the gap. G.W. will in all sincerity blame the left and the Democrats for raising taxes; but, it was his manipulation which did it and his administration which has already signaled that they will use some of these newly acquired funds to buyout private pension funds. No politician worthy of the name would raise so sensitive an issue unless he was 100% certain that he had the overwhelming support of the population. You are being lied too by a manipulative communist in the guise of a conservative Republican.

"The Ponzi scheme has worked so far only because the numbers have worked thus far: there have been plenty of people putting $ in"

Makes sense, then getting more workers to pay it solves that problem and restores the Ponzi balance. Of course, we may have to stop sending the worker jobs to China or putting a SS tax on imports.

"They want the wealthy to pay for everyone else who never saved for their own retirement"

That's the initial selling point. The eventual game is to raise your taxes, but assure you that the guy up the block, who did better than you, is paying more than you. This works because you are always the lucky guy (who did well) up the block from someone else. Communism always promises revenge on that 'other guy' that turns out to be 'you'.

The first step is to lure you with the idea that the mean old rich guy does not need his money like the rest of us do. That's the devil trying to get you to give him your soul.

"Ah. So you're one of those."
