I'm Protestant and I applaud the priest taking a stand against this church takeover plot.

I'm not one of these gaybashing folks, the fire-and-brimstone folks who judge gay people. I don't care what they do.
But the church is a private institution that has postions on moral issues. They can deny their support to those who oppose the church's teachings.
Would there be such outrage if the church denied communion to folks wearing sashes in their in-your-face headline-grabbing way, if those sashes supported child abuse, Nazism, racism, etc?

Rev. Michael Sklucazek is a brave man. I expect his parish to encourage and support him.

Sister Gabriel Herbers No doubt a disciple of Joanie Chittister.

Same here.
I first thought that the priest was being extreme, excluding people like the Baptist pastor who kicked out Democrats last week.
But after reading the story, I have to applaud the priest for keeping communion as a protest-free zone.

Ann McComas-Bussa did not wear a sash, but she and her husband and three children all wore rainbow-colored ribbons and were denied communion. "As a Catholic, I just need to stand in solidarity with those that are being oppressed," she said.*Sigh*

"Gayness is a gift from God" First that I have hard that it is a gift fromn God. I do believe that the Bible refers to it as an abomination. Thank God that there is a priest that stood up to the supporters.

I just need to stand in solidarity with those that are being oppressed Somebody should tell her how "oppressed" American gays really are. They have a higher income than the average American, a higher education, more likely to travel, more disposable income, etc. Wish I was that oppressed.

"Last year, some conservative groups in St. Paul kneeled in church aisles to block sash-wearers from receiving communion."
Good.

If they had ditched the sashes and ribbons and just participated like normal churchgoers, then there wouldn't have been an issue.
However, they decided to wear their sexual orientations on their collective sleeves.
Guess what, homosexuals? This is how the majority of the country feels about you. You wanna act like that? Then do it privately. You bring it up in public, don't be upset when you encounter active resistance.

Sister Gabriel Herbers said she wore a sash to show sympathy for the gay and lesbian community. These liberal (quite likely Lesbo) nuns do every bit as much damage to the Church as pedophile priests. And yes, I am Catholic.

Their sexual orientation "is a gift from God just as much as my gift of being a female is," she said.
"Thank You, Lord, for allowing me to repudiate Scripture and spew forth my anti-Christ tripe."
