What is more outrageous is that they are dedicated to weakening and irrevocably altering this country, by obliterating the very heritage which allowed them to come into being in the first place!

Of course, you are absolutely right. The term "liberalism" and all that it used to convey, has been corrupted. Most people today don't understand what classic liberalism really is, and those on the current "liberal" left are attempting to convince voters that they are the true "classical liberals." It's just another verbal trick, and they have many of them. It's all rhetoric and twisting the language.
