What I see is "a husband of 52 years" which would make him probably about 70

Hierarchical threads? I'm inclined to say "No".

The "View Replies" at the bottom of any particular posting and the "To x" just to its left are probably as close as you'll get to "hierarchy" around here.

I understood him to mean that he had been married for 52 years.

........."a loving husband of some 52 plus years,".........

"..and I see "a father of 52...". I do not see..."

Whoa baby; I don't know about that!

I think he said he was a husband of 52 years.

The man is 52 AND grew up during the depression. This is either a compilation or the GOP can not add.

From the article:

...is a loving husband of some 52 plus years...

He could easily be in his 70's or 80's depending on when he got married.

If you read again you will see he has been married for 52 years. That puts him into his mid to late 70's. Though he would have been born after the crash of 1929 and would not remember many of the early years of the depression he would remember much of the economic hardship that the world did not pull out of until WWII.

My conservative education serves me just fine. What is wrong with your educatoin?

Yes, but even still, a husband of 52 years (that means a wedding year of 1953) still wouldn't necessarily have first-hand knowledge of the Depression. ON THE OTHER HAND, where does it actually claim that the same person is talking about living through the Depression?! This sounds more like a composite of several/many people!

And the non-Republican response will be: "Methinks he doth protest too much."

This one ain't gonna fly. It was originally published in The Washington Post on Wednesday, October 20th 2004 and neither they, nor Harry Reid, nor The New York Times nor Ward Churchill have bobbled a bit.
