It is OUR media and our loose lips that causes most of the problems. No one need report everything that happens.
I think I read it that way anyway-maybe I need new glasses.
I can't claim to speak for all of my countrymen, however, please don't include me and my friends in your "we". I don't personally have any friends or associates that I know of who in fact are afraid of offending muslims. But then, I live in Texas.
On Earth, as it is in Texas!
Delighted to do so. Thanks!
Char :)
It will never happen. There aren't any comedy breaks in the How-To-Kill-Rape-Behead guidebook. It is a blood, gore and death cult. It is a sub-human abomination, and what is still left of the civilized world must discredit it, including mockery, scorn and ridicule, until one fine day, it will be obsolete, an anachronism of history.
The pity is that it wasn't eradicated long before now.

Ditto to YOU and Armednready
correct.
You, and others in this thread, are mischaracterizing this article. You need to read it more carefully. The author is simply stating that we are at war with Islam; this is simply the objective reality. The author is not calling for us to publicly declare war on Islam; she is merely pointing out that we need to acknowlege this reality to ourselves. The only thing the author is calling for us to do publicly is to stop apologising to the Islamists.
What has happened to this country?
We have largely forsaken our God. The only reason we are still around is that the true Christians that are left are praying for this nation.
The love of life, and thus the willingness to preserve and defend it comes from God. When people wander away fromt the source of True Life ... all manner of darkness follows.
The Left carries the banner of darkness in this nation. They serve death.
I've been saying for awhile now that we need a total spiritual renaissance in America. Things can't get too much worse, or the darkness which has been created by the liberals will be overwhelming.
Thanks for your serious comments.

**Sigh** Then it's not a "war." Look up the definition.
I have. The author's use of the word is correct. Your statement is not.
Anyone who seriously talks about a "war on terror" (or a war on poverty or drugs) should be led by the hand to a nice quiet room where he can't harm anyone.
While it is certainly appropriate to argue the semantic merits of those phrases, your qualifications to render such a judgement on those who use them are dubious, particularly in light of your demonstrated lack of understanding of the nature of war. Sorry, Petronius, you are no Arbiter.
Excellent article.
However, I doubt very seriously that the pathetic blame America first crowd will like it.
#30 was removed.
Was it because some pathetic blame America first troll went beyond idiocy.
We are at war. A war of cultures. Our laws are universal; we strive to protect the rights of all (though we are fallible, we improve): Sha'ria is the Islamic law, idiocentric, which grants rights only to followers. It grants followers extralegal protection and pardons crimes committed against "nonbelievers"
The Islamists use our laws against us. They seek only disruption of western society, conversion and dominance.
It's not a semantic trifle because "being at war" is invariably used to justify encroachments on constitutional liberties. How many abominations against the fourth amendment were perpetrated in the holy name of the War on Drugs? "It's a war, you see. To win the war we may have to make some changes, maybe temporarily sacrifice some rights. What? You don't want to win the war? Whose side you on?"
And you need to read what I was replying to. It wasn't the article. It was other posters demanding that we declare war on Islam front and center. And to do anything other than that was being 'PC' and an 'apologist for Islam' etc. I was simply pointing out to do so would be foolish and not further our cause. Go read it again...
Yeah, that's about where I'm at. I'm not exactly a scholar of Islam: Can that religion even have a Reformation? Or are we banking on a miracle?
It might be that the "stuck in time" factor you allude to plays as much a role as their religion. Imagine a country of 16th-century Europeans suddenly confronted with a culture that tolerates MTV, pornography, abortion, and you can fill in the next fifty-thousand examples yourself. The 16th-century Europeans, assuming they survived the initial shock, would be mortified, enraged, repulsed, etc. And they would actively resist any assimilation.
This isn't a hymn to cultural relativism. I like the wild n' crazy freedoms we enjoy. But to expect ALL others to do so bespeaks a willful ignorance of human nature, a dangerous one.
One of the things specified by Gen. Ben Partin, expert on explosives, that nothing should be touched after the bombing. Instead, the place was razed just three days after the bombing. Why were they so quick to destroy the evidence?
