Interesting of course if Federal Officers have been ordered to violate their oaths and to, in essence, "aid and abet" the violation of U.S. sovereignty. If true, whoever issued such an order needs to be prosecuted.

If Drudge is representing the Washington Times story accurately, this could be a smoking gun. Somebody's head should roll.

If they can substantiate it, you can bet that O'Reilly will be *all over it*.

I would hope so. We need someone in a position of power to represent the people. Instead of their own political interests.

This was first reported a week ago by retired Army Colonel Ben Anderson on his website at www.azanderson.org. It looks like the story is hitting the big time. I don't see the story at azanderson. There's a lot there. Maybe I'm misssing it. Do you have a link?

PAPER: Border Patrol told to stand down in Arizona... Border Patrol agents have been ordered not to arrest illegal aliens along the section of the Arizona border where protesters patrolled last month because an increase in apprehensions there would prove the effectiveness of Minuteman volunteers, WASHINGTON TIMES has learned.... Developing...I don't get it. Why would an increase of arrests now prove the effectiveness of Minuteman volunteers who are no longer there? This doesn't make any sense.

Maybe its talking as in past tense.
They don't want to be compared to the minute men. Still doesn't make a lot of sense I know.

I found it, but it is further down the webpage...
the funny funny funny part is that the story comes from a supposed trustworthy source deep within the USBP.
I HATE anonymous sources.....

I don't get it. Why would an increase of arrests now prove the effectiveness of Minuteman volunteers who are no longer there? This doesn't make any sense. Because the Border Patrol execs said that the Minuteman Project really didn't stop anybody. If the numbers suddenly go up after the MMP leaves, then the Border Patrol execs were lying.

A close friend of mine works for the Washington Times. They undoubtedly leaked it to him last night. It's the truth.

But Standing down would make the numbers really jump would it not? No, the numbers of those successfully crossing and evading Border Patrol would go up - but those numbers are not tracked. The numbers of apprehensions would go down - and that's all they track. They can manipulate their own numbers and they do so for political reasons. I've heard they do this from Border Patrol Agents who are my friends and I've heard it from one of the vice presidents of the Border Patrol's national union. It is called 'sitting on an X' and the agents hate it.

If true then sickening and alarming.. equally sickening is that I wouldn't have a hard time believing it true.

I went and re-read it, and my take is that the stand-down order was while the Minutemen were still there, but we're only hearing about it now.
Paging O'Reilly...............
