The three-minute segment consisted of a full-screen close-up of a man's genitals displayed in front of a drape that covered the rest of his body. A face was drawn on the organ and a gruff voice told jokes as though it was speaking.I understand the DVD is going to have an extended version.

If it is legal for public access (note, not pubic access), then he should be able to do the same routine on any street corner, right?
The ACLU stood up for this, would they also defend a man who yells "fire" in a crowded theater?

You beat me to it. I actually went to see that movie when I was in college. I was with a guy I barely knew (had no idea what the movie was about) and was sooooo embarrassed when I realized what was *talking*! That's all I remember about it.
I think the Hodaddy thing that Bob Denver did in that beach blanket movie was way funnier.
