"Mike is charismatic. He's articulate, but he's not shrill or mean the way some conservatives can be," said Stephen Moore, former president of the Club for Growth, a conservative political action committee. "I think a lot of us are looking around and saying, 'Who is the next great conservative hero? Where is the next Ronald Reagan in our party?' . . . The Study Committee has close to 100 members now. That's a high water mark. So it means that all legislation that passes Congress is going to have go through Mike Pence."

I've been looking into Tancredo's positions. He's anti-abortion, anti-gay marriage, and anti-China. He's got a lot of positions on a lot of issues.

Tancredo isn't going to win any national elections. He is nothing but a one issue wonder who has around 1% or so of the electorate behind him. His mentor Buchanan didn't do any better when he ran on the same issue. Also, Tancredo sold out Tom Delay just to get his desperately needed attention from the media. People like that shouldn't even be in the party much less considered a possible Presidential candidate.

I love Tancredo but he puts his foot in his mouth far too often.A third of the Freepers don't like him,and they are a fairly conservative bunch.Pence for President,Tancredo for director of Homeland security.

We need someone who's more firm than President Bush, though. Bush's action of wanting to grant all the illegal immigrants legal status and giving them free medical care angers me so greatly. I want Bush to go.

Maybe you should try telling the truth once and a while. The President has never said he wants to grant legal status to illegals nor give them free health care. (That would be from people like Kennedy, Hillary, and McLame.) The money to the hospitals is to cover emergency room care for people brought in that later turned out to be illegal. Do you think critical care should be denied until a person can prove their citizenship?

You're right. Pence looks like a really good candidate. As long as they crack down on immigration and are conservative, I'm fine with them.

OK, my bad.

But this gets me upset........

Mr. Bush said he will "continue to push for reasonable, common-sense immigration policy." He has proposed legislation to grant guest-worker status to millions of illegal aliens already in the United States.

We shouldn't be rewarding them. They need to come here legally or STAY OUT!
