It was not very powerful despite the claim that it would do 500 fps in .22. It was extremely accurate tho.
I have never owned one of the real expensive externally charged air guns but probably have a dozen pneumatic and spring air right now.
For just walking around the yard, I actually prefer one of the inexpensive Daisy model 881's. I pump it up 12 times and it will dispatch any small game.
I used to have a Diana RWS model 52 but it was just plain too heavy.
I was in a little sporting goods store in Alva, Georgia and noticed they had a Haenel air rifle for only $80. It was rated at only 800 fps but was as accurate and well made as guns costing several times as much. I greatly regret selling it to my Nephew. It was a little jewel.
Correction, not Alva, Georgia but Alma.
I bought one of those Chinese pellet guns at a gun show some years ago. I never could get by that "boing" when the big spring inside let go. Pretty crude.
I understand they are making some pretty decent ones but for the money I would just go ahead and get a German one.
That Haenel I mentioned was made in the former East Germany and was better finished than any of my RWS models.
Lugging a scuba tank around on a deer hunt would be one heckuva workout though... $;-)
