I don't have any problem with eating horse, but I wouldn't want to see them penned like cattle waiting slaughter. It bothers me to see cattle that way too, but as you say, horses are smarter. A quick bullet in the head and slaughter them, no problem. That's just me though, what others do is their business.

That's what I tell the anti-hunters. A wild deer who gets shot and eaten had a better life and at least a chance for longevity-domestic cattle are doomed.
