One day, people will value the uncut, undoctored originals over the remade/remodeled "official" versions. All that re-re-re-editing smacks too much of revisionism.
Two follow-ups:
1. Bought the soundtrack yesterday. It comes with a DVD that is basically a 70 minute music (John Williams) video that tells the entire 6 episode story. My son and I loved it! Scenes from the new film are included.
2. My son loves Jar Jar. I know I know - but after reading the comments yesterday, I got to thinking - so what if parts were inane/childish? My son and I are having a blast and enjoying a great story together. It's given us some great opportunities to talk about good and evil.
Also - as some as noted - I think the darkness of this one will make up for Jat Jar.

"Umm, better it is, yes, to a clitoris have deep in your throat than to no clitoris have at all! There is no try, there is only do!" |
Not to mention total ingratitude for the people who made the author his fortune. Lucas definitely has a God-complex.
It's not revisionism. It's revision. Authors do it all the time, though it's less common in fiction than it used to be. And it was never "uncut" or "undoctored" -- it was cut and doctored by George Lucas to begin with.
I've never seen a Star Wars flick. Any reason to start now?
