I doubt we could have TOTAL annihilation of the Humanity...there'd be some isolated people who'd AVOID this disease I'd imagine; people with bomb shelters who dug in and outwaited it, in weather stations in Antarctica, ships that decided to stay at sea til the food ran out, on nuclear submarines that stayed under etc etc
Hmmm the "On The Beach" submarine scenario might be more applicable to an Omnicidal viral outbreak than it ever was to nuke war eh?

A "nuclear sterilization" tactic would be like using a flame thrower to kill acne.

So assuming these are anywhere near the correct figures the larger codes will give more specific and accurate results but the numbers will probably not change MUCH since the uncertainty over the numbers is greater than the refinement the larger codes would give?
Thus even with the uncertainty of the numbers, if they are off by a magnitude order as Judith Anne and I suspect or not, would only amount to whether we are off by one chessboard square at most? It's not going to make much difference because we're still early and the snowball [sorry for mixing the metaphor again] hasnt picked up enough mass and downhill momentum yet?
