And the divide continues to grow.
Yes, and you're helping every chance you get. Pushing creationism in public schools promotes this kind of blowback. It will get worse.

Our values are whatever we the people say they are. That means they may or may not reflect faith values. It's up to us. What the left wants is to outlaw the use of faith to shape our values. That's wrong. In other words, they want to win by default, since the right's ideology will be illegal if they get their way in the courts. So leftist goal #1: Pack the courts. The people would NEVER agree to their plan.
If you're a relativist, truth means nothing. If you don't like it, rewrite it.
And the divide continues to grow.

Lucifer never rests... neither do his fiendish legions !!!
David Barton is a good man and patriot. I like Wallbuilders.
I get it. So even though God created the universe like he says in Genesis, we can't teach this, because it might make a few libs mad?
According to Jesus, it will get a lot worse.
Barton's "research" is sloppy and many of his points have been debunked. He's not really the person you want to use as the poster child for integrity in faith.
Well, then, I guess Christians better just shut up......nah.
FMCDH(BITS)
Because it might make a few Christians like me mad because my interpretation of Genesis has plenty of room for evolution.
God gave us a Bible, and He gave us His creation. By definition, they cannot be in conflict. If an apparent conflict exists, then someone interpreted something wrong.
If you want to understand about salvation, then the Bible is your book. If you want to understand how Gods creation works, then study it. Which is what science has done, and has found enourmous evidence for evolution.
That is what should be taught in schools.
Welcome to FR.
Don't let these people get to you. You'll only wind up mired in a flame war. It won't be the first or the last time this has happened, however.
The idea that you shouldn't speak your mind because it make someone else uncomfortable is as like you put it...ridiculous. If everyone on the right sat around and wrung their hands like that, there would be no FR.
Go ahead, bang your own head with a hammer and claim you're doing it for your faith. There are lots of wierdos in India that stick things in their bodies for the same reason.
But I don't think either stunt is a good idea.
It's not hard to miss the large number of burka wearing people attending these rallies put on by the left. Little do these Lunatic lefties realize that they are teamed up with the ones who are most likely to force them to believe, and base their legal system entirely on it as is happening all over the world in lands where Islamic fundamentalism is on the rise.
No, they want us to all shut up except when it comes to the first Thursday in November.
The issue is that when conservatives push religion in schools, it damages our ability to effect far more important issues like judges, abortion, Social Security Reform, etc. There are plenty of us conservatives that are trying to keep our collective eye on the ball and get things done. Spending political capital promoting creationism is not on the agenda.
Thanks Cowboy. :)
Narby, creationism might be wrong, but if so, it's not because it divided the electorate. If it was wrong, it would be because science or the Bible had disproven it. This is my point. I would love to debate creationism, but this isn't the place. :)
That would be Tuesday.
