Burned or 'relocated' to a police chief's basement?

The Night Fox would never burn a painting. I can see burning a forgery to throw off the police.
To: aculeus
It's enough to make someone scream.
To: aculeus
How about repainting them from memory, after all everybody in the world has seen them.
Its not like they were a grandma moses or a norman rockwell.

(Two words that shouldn't be used in the same sentence Grizzly bear and violate.)

"The scream" always made me think the person was being burned alive. Life imitates art.

Art ping.
Please let me know if you want on or off the art ping list.
Reserving judgment for now on the veracity of this.

Munch never painted a masterpiece.
I visited the Munch Museum in Norway. The man was obviously miserable and he wanted to share the experience with the viewers of his work. The most depressing experience of my life. They should hand out Prozac at the door.

Also, it wasn't insured. Odd.

I read that that The Scream was painted shortly after A large volcanic explosion (Krakatoa?) and that the sky really was that red at sunset.

There's apparently some dispute about whether or not "the Scream" and "the Madonna" by Edvard Munch were actually destroyed.
I don't have the link, but according to the Louisville (Kentucky) Courier-Journal, the Norwegian police are "disputing" "sensational newspaper reports."
