Channel 9 WFTV reported they were able to get work using fake Social Security I.D.'s.

If the applicant produces a legit looking SS card, what then? Do they verify the number always?
Bogus SS cards are hard to detect. Someone can come here on a legit work or student visa and stay beyond the date and float around using a fake SS card. Homeland Security folks are running around like crazy in Florida rounding them up. There are MANY you will not hear about in the news.
To: RedBloodedAmerican
we probably have illegals working for Homeland Security.

And a new batch (if not the ones they detained today) will be back to work by next week. Just doing all those construction jobs Americans won't do. (sarcasm)

Can't speak English. Very little chance the SS Card is legit.
The contractor should do jail time. There is no way he didn't know.
My brother sure knows that his workers are illegal. And yes he should also go to jail.

I still don't get it.
I retired 10 years ago and got a part time job. I had to bring in a birth certificate or passport before I got hired and this was definitely not a job that would affect homeland security,
What changed?

"I certainly hope the contractor will be brought up on charges."
I would like to see the contract this company has with the government for this project. If there are regulations that require the contractor to pay the employees a certain hourly wage, then it would be interesting to see if this was in fact taking place.
I would bet this contractor was stuffing his/her own drawers with some extra income. This on top of our tax dollars going to illegals !!

"What we look for is suspected criminal aliens, someone who's been deported already from our country and snuck back in across our borders, or committed crimes in our country while they're here illegally. That's our priority," said Garrand. IOW, "most of these criminal invaders will be released with our best wishes."

I wonder how much money is ever collected.
To: RedBloodedAmerican
"We asked the contractor to call all the employees down to the work trailer. From there we started the identification process, interview process," explained Mark Garrand, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Resident Agent in Charge. You're going about this backwards, Mark.
If you want your sting to have a real effect, lock up the contractor.
Obviously the contractor did not run these supposed legal citizens through the SAVE Program.

My brother sure knows that his workers are illegal. And yes he should also go to jail. So report him.
Anonymously, if necessary.
