I agree, but what is so frustrating is why weren't photos such as posted in #1 released early on? I'll tell you why: there is a mindset in law enforcement and other "authorities" that only they should be in the know, that us "underlings" can't handle it. I got sick of that attitude after 31 years in that business. Another attitude is that once someone graduates from whichever LE academy (choose one) and pins a badge on, he becomes an instant expert in all matters, some of you know what I'm talking about.

Have they ever explained away the molten metal in the basement?

Yes. It's in the report. It was hot enough in the wreckage pile to melt steel. In some areas of the fires it was very hot, others not so much. But remember, the fire in the wreckage pile burned for weeks. Sort of a giant coal fire.
