Well, first of all if you want to learn another language you are free to do so. However, no American should have to learn another language to accomodate the laziness of a specific immigrant group.
As regards the only country supposedly speaking one language, having been to Portuagal, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Japan, Korea and Panama I can tell you all of those countries have a single official language. Come to think of it, I believe Mexico does as well...
I don't look at multilingual China, India, Canada or Belgium as a model for what we want to become.
Funny how someone littered this thread with talks about illegal aliens since none of these people came to the US illegally. I suppose it's hard to resist slamming the Mexicans even when they are invited into the US.
[[Door slams on foreign landscape workers]]
You ain't seen nothing yet! Momentum is building and the silent majority of hard working Americas will not longer stand by and watch their country be turned into a 3rd world cesspool like Mexico by our own cowardly politiicns.

If you want your neighborhood to look like a 3rd world barrio then move to Mexico. You can reward yourself with all of the diversity and multi-culturalism that you want there.
Here's a new thought -- do it yourself! It's great exercise. (When I go on vacation, I pay enterprising high school and college kids to do it. I know one kid who worked his way through college mowing lawns.)
It would be a lot simpler for the rest of us if you just left.
WOW!! This would be a GREAT summer job for high school students! They ALWAYS have a hard time finding summer jobs!!!
PERFECT!!!
I'm sorry, you just lost me. I was saying that these employers who lost their temp guest worker visas could hire unemployed Americans for the same minimum wage, and you come back screaming about giving health benefits to undocumented workers.
An important subject, to be sure, but not germane to the discussion we were having. I still maintain that the lack of health insurance does not change the costs of LEGAL alien workers who are ON THE BOOKS and the cost of hiring unemployed American workers with no insurance.
These employers were disappointed that they lost their experienced workers that they could hire year after year for entry level wages. Period. The cost to us American taxpayers for healthcare for illegal aliens is not relelvant to this particular discussion.
