"investigations" and "policy" are two different things.
i think everyone in col assumes that "investigation" means "hope it all goes away quietly"
coleman could easily have said "anyone who is found to have obstructed justice should be held criminally liable"
as for policy, he could have called for policy changed to suspend everyone up the chain until the "investigations" are conclusive.
beck and anyone on the side of the student have perfect reason to be absolutely LIVID.
Per Joel; boy who videotaped this has a spokesperson(!),apparantly his pastor, who stated he only videotaped @7 seconds. Oh, that makes it better, huh-sheesh.
The community forums that the superintendant has stated will occour, will not even start until this summer.
Heard on an earlier show on tvn that this girl may have been on a list of children that should not even be in this school (due to the severity of their disabilities, I believe), and if this is true the man said this will result in even more problems for the school, legal-wise.
Haas, Coleman's campaign manager-city being attacked by people interested in ratings and attention. Called Glenn a shock jock; claimed this 'kid' is being exploited by people and the mayor will not do that. Mike Coleman is a moderate, per Haas, and says Ken Blackwell will have much support from the 'right wingers' that listen to such radio shows as Glenn Beck.
April 20, 2005 Interview with Columbus Mayor Coleman...This will start the WMP.
The link on Glenn Beck's Web Page.....You can click the WMP link from here if you wish.
The real kicker was when Glenn Beck asked Coleman if he sent his kids to the school district. Coleman sent his kids to a catholic school. Funny that hasn't been mentioned. Beck showed remarkable interviewing ability during that bout of questions. Beck is a quick thinker.
Beck was polite, but asked emotional, probing questions which were direct and predictable from the views one heard from his discussion of the issue, and which Coleman had to know about since he decided to call Beck to set the record straight, if I'm not mistaken. Beck certainly didn't blindside Coleman.
Coleman dodged Beck's questions with the the "I'm the head of a criminal investigation" strawman, if anyone is interested in my opinion.
longjack
I was not able to listen to Greg Haas.
It was reported by WTVN's John Corby that people at City Hall were accusing WTVN of being "right-wing." I am not shocked at all by Coleman and Team Coleman's response to this. This is how they do things when they are attacked. It's always the "don't play politics, not time to play the blame game, it's not our fault game."
I can tell you I have not heard one call supporting Coleman on WTVN. Many people have called and say they have previously supported Mike Coleman, but now say they won't.
Only when Glenn did the spoof interview with stu playing the mayor, did Coleman's office call in and want on the air. By that time, there were less than 15 minutes left on his show. I saw it as Glenn attempting to get him to answer a question without grandstanding and constantly using the Janet Reno excuse of 'I can't comment on an ongoing investigation'.
Glenn Beck Rocks!!! If you haven't heard the Michael Jackson "calls" you must. Glenn Beck is a great American and is my favorite radio host in all of America.
