""It's Ratzinger," French pilgrim Silvie Genthial, 52, barked into her cellular phone before hanging up. "

If the FRENCH are unhappy, we definitely have the right man for the job.

I hope they play "Being There". Young people need a focus in their lives. Peter Sellers was really focused and had the substance people need to figure out what life is all about. Certainly the new Pope can help them all get focused. What a wonderful day.

Being a Catholic, I am so proud of the new Pope. This man has inmeasurable intelligence, and a love of God that I hope someday to have just a numb nail of.

I can't say enough of this Pope. I loved Pope John Paul 11, but Pope Benedict is going to be the greatest Pope ever other than Pope Peter himself.

And I'm not even worried about all the attacks the liberal catholics will take on him, he has God on his side, and those attacks won't mean a thing.

What a blessing that the new Pope did NOT come from France or Benelux. Yikes!

Maybe now all the pretenders will give up trying to corrupt the Church and move on to Vicky Gene Robinson's Church.

"He could be a wedge rather than a unifier for the church," said the Rev. Thomas Reese, editor of the Jesuit weekly magazine America.

Then again, maybe not. Could be. May be. Let the nitpicking begin!

Wouldn't want to leap to judgement. The measure you use to measure and all that sort of thing.

I may not be Catholic but I'm very well aware of how the Pope makes an influence on the political world. If the French don;t like him and the DU is throwing fits I have great hope. I was really impressed when I heard reports of him mentioning relativism being a detriment to society.

He once called Buddhism a religion for the self-indulgent.
I'm sure this is not a quote and that it doesn't come close to conveying what he actually said and meant. Strictly red meat for the libs.

"...Rev. Thomas Reese, editor of the Jesuit weekly magazine America."

Jesuits lost their way long ago. They could do with heavenly blast from their founder.

Being agnostic I really don't have an opinion of the new Pope....I just find it amusing the official paper of the Den of Iniquity would find time to print an article about him.

Why are Liberals fuming? Because their secular humanist ideas are in conflict with this German Pope. He is against Abortion
(A Holy Sacrement to FemNazis), Homosexuality, Divorce, Pre Marital Sex. In short that makes him a Homophobe, backward, and reactionary. Sounds great to me, tell the Liberals to kiss my hairy A@#. First they campaign to have Homosexuals become Priests and make Homosexual Seminaries then surprise
Altar Boys and underage Males are molested. Their true goal is to destroy the Catholic Church. They are scared of Jesus Land (Red States) screw them. They are losing and Conservatives are winning.

It's like they think they are entitled to belong to the Church, like it's some kind of social club. I got news for them, "it's not your Church, it's God's Church. Deal with it."
