no private company is going to rehabilitate the public space. even the meadowlands project for the new Giants stadium involves $134 million in public money for infrastructure - and that's 134 million for swampland. building infrastructure in manhattan, above a train yard, is quite a bit more expensive.

Say what you want..but he, at one time, looked to be
a better candidate than the other Kerry...and Bob
Kerry can truly be classified as a Vietnam Vet with
honor...lost lower portion of a leg.... Give the guy
some credit..I think he would also be on the side
of SS reform with President Bush...Jake

fine. let him run for mayor of Omaha Nebrasks then.

what is he going to do for NYC? Nothing, he just wants to use it as a stepping stone for something else. We already have a US senator doing that, we don't need some dude from Nebraska joining her.

Kerrey was given a Medal of Honor because it was decided they needed to give one at about that time, not because he deserved it. When he ran for Gov in Nebraska, then as Senator, I do not remember much if anything about his shooting up a village. I do know that the "incident" that was used to award him the Medal was one in which he disobeyed orders, taking his men the wrong way on the beach, into a mine field. He got his own leg blown off in that incident. Definitely not one worthy of The Medal of Honor.

Kerrey was actually about as dishonorable as they come in Nebraska politics. Ask some of the people in Lincoln, Omaha and other parts of Nebraska who lost money in the Savings & Loan scandals. He protected the butts of his buddies running the ones that went belly up, not the Nebraska citizens who were investors.
