I can very well appreciate what you say - in their case, I do believe it is not a question of being ashamed at all, but rather one of being respectful (as they may have been taught by their church).
The Jewish folk, for example, do not ever use the name of the Lord which some Christians refer to as "Jehovah", or "Yaweh", because the primary Hebrew consonants can be rendered as YWH or JWH, but the orthodox believing Jews cosider it to be the highest, holiest name of the Lord too holy to be uttered by unclean human lips..
Not to say I agree or disagree, that is just how others understand and practice their faith respectfully and humbly before the Lord of hosts.
That said, it still beats the muzzies' gig, bowing 5x a day to Mecca and the false god of the moon rock, alla-uzza...

My son is coming home from Baghdad for two weeks in the middle of May. Woo Hoo ! I can't wait to see how he's changed since he went to do a man's job in Iraq. I'm gonna kiss his face, on both sides. He hates that, but would be disappointed if I didn't. He He!
