You don't decide to become conservative. You just wake one morning (usually on Tax Day) and realize that your values mirror those of the conservatives.

I don't think you're there yet. Political philosophy isn't about "fun" or "winning". It's about core convictions.

You get a secret decoder ring from Commander Rove. Then you must await transmissions of cryptographic instructions to the computer chip in your head. If successful, you become an official secret agent of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy.

Instead of deciding to "become a conservative" you really should look at yourself and ask "What do I believe in?"

You can vote however you want in a general election, you are precluded from cross-party voting in any primaries though. Try moving to independent for a while until you know what you stand for.

It isn't easy. Liberals, like puppies, have a hard time focusing when their eyes open for the first time.

Start small. Put down your copy of Capital and pick up a copy of Human Action. Memorize John Galt's speech in Atlas Shrugged and recite it to a group of glassy-eyed Greenpeace members. Tear up the Che t-shirt and put on one of these:

Wear it to your next MoveOn.org function. Stop logging into the Daily Kos for your daily Two Minutes' Hate. Post an "I love Ronald Reagan" note to DU and get banned. Then start a vanity thread on FR on your first day. Be popular!
