"Cooked duck tongues are a delicacy among many locals and Hong Kong tourists."
And China wants these people to be part of their country? I'm definitely going to have check what my Taiwanese wife is putting in that stew :D

Dang, I wonder how many ducks it takes to come up with four tons of tongues?

Not "tons" - "TONNES" (2204.62262184878 pounds). Sooo, 8818.4904873951 pounds out of a million or so ducks = .00801849873951 pound per duck tongue, or about 7.8 tongues to the ounce.
Doesn't seem like much...

Count their legs wings & tongue, divide by 5 and you will find it takes about a million ducks to get four tonnes.
It was a short article, re read it.

With my epxerience when I think ton I think 2204.625 vs. "short ton" which is 2000 lbs. But thanks anywho.

Duck tongue smuggling. Duck tongue smuggling. Say it ten times fast. Duck tongue smuggling.
To: bloggodocio
"Raw duck tongue" sounds like an Asian name. Wasn't there a Li Duc To in Viet Nam?
To: Sam the Sham

Oh you guys are killing me.
My wife says she never heard of people eating duck tongue in Taiwan.
That reminds me, I almost lost my lunch when I saw not only street vendors selling chicken feet on skewers in Taiwan, but customers eating (pulling at the skin) them!
As for the best Chinese comic name EVER, that honor goes to the PLA pilot who crashed into our "spyplane" back in 2001(?): he was Wong Wei (pronounced "way"). You can't make that stuff up.

Perhaps we should start collecting smuggler's tongues.I'm sure they are a delicacy somewhere.
