Well of course the Minutemen are an embarrassment to the Border Patrol. They see it as a babysitting service and it's embarrassing to them, as well it should be. If I were a Border Patrol agent and couldn't do my job any better than they do theirs, I would be ashamed of myself. I can guarantee you that 90% of the people working in the private sector have standards of performance so much higher that there's no comparison.

The BP supervisors are following the party line like the good little sheep they are and they are afraid that if the Minutemen project succeeds it will show the world how ineffective the BP is under the direction of its present supervisors. Washington DC does not want us to succeed.
And yet you call for more BP agents? What is that saying about doing the same thing over and over again and getting the same results?

You have to remember, most of the supporters of the MM can't bring themselves to say the things you just said. They simply blame it on Washington. Second, the supporters of the MM absolutely hate the private sector because of who they hire, so you'll get no agreement from them when you compare the government workers to the private sector.
You would think if Walmart has the technology to catch you stealing a 2inch pack of gum, these guys could come up with a way to catch a 150 person running around the desert.

Maybe you guys could train the BP. LOL It is amazing that such a small number of untrained volunteers has done what the BP could/would not do. Great job!

it's interesting to see and hear Bill O'Reilly guest Enrique Morones (ricky moron) call these good people vigilantes
and heap praise upon the Grupo Beta on the other side.
Freakin Mexico apologists , they are probably directly on the take from the Vincente Fox gov....
Stand tough Minutemen , America is noticing you .

I saw a family group on post today...2 adult males, an adult female, and three toddlers...they could have been illegals, but appeared to be too well dressed. Problem is, families don't take walks along Hatfield between the VanDeman Gate and the MP checkpoint. There is absolutely no reason to be there. And for those that know the area, because of right-of-way fencing, there is nowhere to go but back out the gate or through the MP checkpoint.
I wonder if we'll hear what became of them...?

Lou Dobbs came out to the Naco line this morning to look around. He is going to be doing a TV show about the Minutemen and wanted first hand information for his programs. I was listening to Sean Hannity today as he interviewed Jim Gilchrist. Jim invited him down to look the situation over, and Sean committed to looking into coming down next week some time. He said he could probably do his radio show from their affiliate (KNST/790AM) in Tucson and drive down afterwards.

Your reading comprehension skills leave a lot to be desired. Jack & Barb were talking about Border Patrol management or mismanagement as the case may be. We need more Border Patrol Agents and they need better resources and competent, committed management.

Excellent thread, and Bravo to the Minutemen.
IMO, the Border Patrol can only do so much because Washington DC help never comes until it is too late. DC is too PC. My guess is that a lot of the Federales and Mexican cops are complicit in the illegal/smuggler border problems that have been going on for decades, but no one in DC wants to talk about or stop it.
I predict the next man who is elected president will be the same man who endorses and supports the American Minuteman Volunteers. Especially those who volunteer their time by working in conjunction with the Border Patrol to prevent illegal aliens, criminals, smugglers, drug runners, and terrorists from entering our borders during a time of war.
