If the Germans and the French can make up, anything is possible......
stranger things have happened. I, for one, would not have thought it possible for China and India to be strategic partners. after all, they've fought several wars. Japan is trying to form some kind of partnership with India. Many Joe Sixpacks out there think Japan is the most loyal Asian ally. There is no such thing. Each country only looks after its own interest. No friends forever kind of thing. Japan has the second best military in the world. They could practically go nuclear overnight. When that happens, it could be payback to those who have nuked them in the past and stopped their "Asian Sphere of Co-prosperity" thingy.
"Ever read " The Coming War With Japan " ?"
Yes, I believe I did. About twenty years ago. It didn't make sense then, and it REALLY doesn't make sense now. the Chinese and Japanese have been implacable enemies for thousands of years. Why on earth would anyone expect the Japanese to suddenly align themselves with the Chinese now, against the US, given the bellicosity of the Chinese today?
i don't think the indians love the chinese, or vice versa.
however, the object of american globalism since the pubbies of the 1940s is to create world markets.
when folks trade with each other, they are less likely to war upon each other. or, so the idea goes.
Maybe so, but they all hate the West, esp. USA. So, they have a common enemy. Can you name one country where more than 50% of the population likes the US?
when folks trade with each other, they are less likely to war upon each other. or, so the idea goes.
I can give you a counter example. France and Germany were largest trading partners prior to WII, yet they fought WWII.
heh heh!
that's why i added, "...or so the idea goes"!
