...who happily accepts the gender society prescribes for him (or her). Sorry, society did not "prescribe" my gender, biology & God did!

You know, it doesn't matter how he "feels" going into a bathroom, what matters is that has a prick and needs to keep it out of women's restrooms. PERIOD. What is so difficult about this?

A biological "man" who experiences life as a woman, and who speaks and dresses accordingly, may be no less capable of performing surgery or balancing corporate accounts than a man (or woman) who happily accepts the gender society prescribes for him (or her). And yet the transgendered person will, because of prejudice, have a harder time finding a welcoming employer.Sorry, but sanity is an appropriate criterion for an employer to use in hiring.

Men who want to use the women's bathroom have one purpose only in doing so, no matter what they claim.

Indeed, the very concept of race is itself highly artificial; for example, there is as much genetic variation among black Africans themselves, as there is between most black Africans and white Europeans. Ergo, I am no longer able to tell if I am a Saxon or a Bantu merely by looking in the mirror, since such concepts are "highly artificial".

This is one of those leftwing conundrum questions predicated on prior brainwashing and flase assumptions. In short, the correct answer is...NO.

Transgendered males can do anything that they like. It is a PC world and they are bullet-proof.

I guess if my pee pee gets lost, I get to go to a lady's restroom. I can hardly wait for that to happen.

I don't entirely reject the experiences of so-called trans-gendered. I view it as a handicap, an abnormality. But with modern Political Correctness, we no longer seem to have the ability to say enough is enough with heroic measures to make things perfect for ever-smaller minorities.

Soon there'll be a time when there's the man's restroom, the women's restroom, and a third one for the ones who are confused.
We are all heading for crazier times.

To be truely fair we should eliminate all sexual distinctions and thus all restrooms, locker rooms and showers should be unisex. I would start enforcing this immediately in such New York liberal enclaves as the Hamptons and then watch the liberal females have a fit.

Does this mean I can use the women's shower at the gym if I think I am a woman?

This article is mixing apples and oranges in order to lead the reader to an opinion.
Fact is, who gives two rat's patooties about a "right", here. What about civility and politeness. The transgender is pushing a "meism" and the "world is all about ME and WHAT I WANT". In a civil world, a transgender would respect that he (or she) should use a restroom which will not offend, and regardless of what he or she wants.
If a homeless person decides they really "feel" like a council member of mayor of a city -- should they have access to the "special" restrooms of the city Chambers?
This is all about metaphysical "squatting" rights (pardon the pun). ;>
