It may not be just Big Pharma. I'm told that physicians in Europe supplement their income by selling supplements. European physicians may be trying to build walls to keep others from getting into the supplement market.

I know doctors in this country who sell supplements. And so do a lot of individuals including some who are health care professionals and some who are not. So do lots of companies and retail outlets, big and small. I see no reason why Europe can't have a free market for supplements, but, if they want to restrict their own access, I guess that's their problem.
