What is never mentioned in respect of retail gas prices is the dramatic increase in cost that local and state environmental regulations impose.

If there were a national standard for gasoline, prices would plummet!

Sorry, Commie, I'm no enviro libbie. I just think it is possible to make a smaller car that is safe. I used the Indy cars as an example. Sad that you enemies of capitalism can't deal with it.

"The question I always ask and nver hear the answer is how much does it cost for the electricity to charge the vehicle? In the overall scheme is it cheaper then the gas to fill up a regular vehicle and get much greater distances?"

It really depends on several things and every car is different: price of electricity, batteries (power/distance), motor, etc…

Most people build electric cars to satisfy their curiosity and/or as a hobby. But some of the commercial cars charge at the equivalent of $0.40 / gallon gas. Below is a link to the Energy guy, he has a lot of experience with electrics. He has built his own and also leased an electric Ford ranger. EV’s are not for everyone, but they could easily meet the needs of most two car households- with the second car being used for the kids and long hauls.

I have a 1989 4 cylinder Cavalier. With $10 worth of gas and $20 of oil I run to work and back all week.

There's a difference between capitalism DOMESTICALLY and Globalist economics. Capitalism should be laissez-faire in the US borders. And American oil companies have a patriotic duty not to sell to the ungrateful Euroweenies and the Red Chinese.

America and Americans FIRST, all others next in line.

BTW, last time I looked at a map, Detroit was in the USA.

I like BIG cars and don't like small ones. Cadillacs rule. Tauruses suck.

" UK drivers pay equivalent of $6.10 per gallon "

- I hope your above calculation took into account that a U.S. gallon is 80% of a British imperial gallon.
