And someone tell me (please!) how dying of starvation and dehydration--very painful--can ever be called "dying with dignity"? Personally, I call it "being tortured to death."

The results of this poll are not significant.

The MSM succeeded in convincing a majority of the American people that Terri was effectively in a coma. There is no changing that fact. What people think should be done if.... doesn't matter a hoot. The majority still believe that pulling the tube was the right thing to do and the Republicans should not have interfered.

The MSM isn't dead yet. They scored a big one here. While we were spending our energy trying to save Terri, they were spending theirs convincing the world that she was brain dead. As a result, they have Frist and 55 (count 'em) pathetic Republican Senators on the run. They are smelling blood and swarming. Watch out.

Yes it's scary! When you have a legislator who won't vote according to the wishes of his constituents makes it even worse because it's fairly obvious that we'll likely have to wait til after '06 elections to get any changes in.

It boggles the mind that anyone could possibly refer to dehydration and torture as "dying with dignity." What would these disgusting individuals call dying without dignity?

I've been asked about the 1995 death of Lisa McPherson who, from what I gather, was dehydrated to death by the Church of Scientology. I'm not familiar with the case. Apparently the ME Wood changed the cause of death after pressure from Scientology and the prosecutor dropped the case in Clearwater.

The truth appears to be that they don't see a disabled person as useful, and thus should be put to death. That's the real basis behind all those statements,

and a very real danger of slipping into "duty to die"

Doctors say that, when the actuality happens, 9 our of 10 people who made "wouldn't want to live under..." statements, when they then unexpectedly find themselves there - change their minds and want to live. Life is precious
