...Malachy is said to have gone into a trance and received a vision...

I know lots of Irishmen who see things.
I know lots of Irishmen who are sober.
But I don't know any Irishmen who see things when they're sober.

Granted, some of 'em have been SO 'tranced' they had to be carried HOME...

Read the prophecy, St. Malachi identifies the last Pope as well as the next, he does NOT say others will not be between them.

The Glory of the Olives...

Werent Italy and greece called the "Olive States" If the next pope is Italian, (or greek for that matter) He would be the Glory of the Olive State, as was John Paul the great of Poland.

[ The pope who then follows this choice in the Chair of St. Peter will be the last pope, and after his reign Rome will be destroyed. ]

Wishful thinking..

The Incas predicted ... Dec. 23, 2012

The Mayan calendar also forecasts 2012, but I didn't get the month and day.

--and what did Nostradmus say?---oh, that's right -he had the world ending in 1996--never mind---

Check your spelling. That would be "Nostradumbass"...

I predict that the Incas will end long before that.

I don't find that particularly significant. Italians are much more likely to be named Pope than other nationalities. The same thing applies to "Petrus Romanus." It's easy to prophesy generalities and likelihoods.

If I remember correctly, the next Pope lives a short life for some reason. I don't know if the prophecy says what happens to him, and I don't have time to look it up.
Anyway, if so, that would have the last one coming sooner than would normally be expected. Say....around 2012?
Oooooo. Scary. What are the odds?

So my "A John Smith will rise in Britannia and smite the evildoers!!!" prophecy probably won't mean too much when it happens?
