That should have been "your hot-heads", not "you hot-heads" - no personalization meant with the error...
"Perhaps they should protest by refusing to accept further outsourcing as well as surrendering those 7-11 franchises. :-)"
--Err.......we are not exactly a country of call-centers and 7-11s :)
Nor McDonald's.
We cannot play both sides against the middle and expect either country to have respect for us.
Err,When you offer unconditional support, the US has to accept or reject it.Pakistani support was seen as more logical & necessary at the point of time & Musharraf's main precondition was that India & Israel should not have any "Active role" in military action.BTW,have any idea about which countries formed & armed the Northern Alliance who did most of the fighting???
Yep,the best way to counter China is by selling arms to it's oldest pal,Pakistan!!If you didn't know, the Pakis will be recieving 150 FC-1 fighters & 4 frigates from China along with these 24 F-16s.
The US even asked us to stay away from Afganistan because Pakistan didnt like the idea.
But even then on the ground it was the India-Russia backed Northan Alliance that did the job.
Hmm,sorry to sound rude but do you have any idea about the relationship between India & China. It's shaky at the best of times with more than one piece of disputed territory. You are saying that India, the world's 2nd fastest growing energy consumer is going to help bring oil to China, the world's fastest emerging consumer.GIMME A LOUSY BREAK!!!!India imports more than 70 percent of her oil & Iran unfortunately happens to be one of the main suppliers as the Persian Gulf states are booked by Japan & Europe.India & China are competing for oil & gas exploration rights in Central Asia,Afria & Iran(where China has an upper hand).About Pakistan, well Im glad to inform you that Pakistan & China have jointly constructed a deepwater facility at Gwadar, near the Iranian border & which will be inaugurated 2 weeks or so from now.So next time a war breaks out,a Chinese warship docked at a Pakistani port maybe defending Iran. What about supplying F-16s with AMRAAMs to Pakistan-that will help China improve it's BVR missiles & help bump off a few American pilots as well. For the unitiated,Pakistan is China's oldest ally & largest arms buyer.
Pakistan is getting over 100 multi-role light fighters from China, equipped with Italian avionics,in addition to these F-16s.Those are just as capable of delivering LGBs & TV guided munitions as an F-16 & can be modified to become even better.& Why do you need an advanced fighter to take on a bunch of skinny terrorists??They don't have Patriot missiles or S-300s & would be lucky if they have a few Strela missiles. If the US really want's to help Pakistan take on terrorists, sell them either the Apaches or the AH-1s,along with Hellfires & a few Blackhawks as well. That will not only keep the choppers safe but will end up being efficient. If the anti-terror logic is used, why aren't the Colombians,Fillipinos & Afghans getting F-16s???
The US has only offered F-16s & F/A-18s to India in a bid to win an order worth close to 9billion $ to supply 126 fighters(will rise to 180+) for the Indian airforce.India has yet to decide which aircraft to buy.
Actually, it's believed by some that a Taiwan F-16 that went missing years ago went to China.
I always use the right hand ;)
I wouldn't think we'd have to bribe "rouge" states, since they all voted for Bush.
There is more than one resource which states that a leased Pakistani F-16 Blk 15,along with the (abandoned) Israeli Lavi fighter, formed the basis for much of the technology found in the J-10 & FC-1/JF-17 fighters. The J-10 is supposedly China's equivalent to the F-16/Mirage-2000s,while the FC-1,which is being built for Pakistan resembles a juiced up Mig-21 with features of the F-16 & Mig-29.
I read that and thought "Is that a threat or a promise?"
I'm curious, what has any other U.S administration in the last 15 years offered India? I took this offer as an olive branch to India from the Bush admin, but apparently I'm wrong.
I disagree. China is forging some very interesting alliances in Africa with an eye toward the long term. Pakistan is in to strategic a location not to have a relationship with them. India and Pakistan will be at each other's throats again, and we can be in a position to mediate using our relationship with both parties.
In the past, we had to count on the Soviets to 'do the right thing' with respect to either of those parties.
Yea...thats what America said to India *rolling eyes*
