It's Thursday at the Finest... The left still doesn't get it as John so eloquently tells us in his own words. Join us for another dose of John's 2 cents...This one is stark with lack of pictures...I think the words speak for themself.
P.S. Warning...this thread deals with Terri...speical prayers for Terri and her family and also for Pope John Paul.

I assure you, I am not at all "unhinged" over the court-ordered murder of Terri Schiavo.
Appalled, disgusted, sad.... yeah, of course.
This murder sure has been excruciating to follow these past couple of weeks - - this has got to be one of the most lengthy and barbaric murders in history!
Too bad nobody in charge would do anything to stop it.
Tick.... tick....

just wait until she passes...you will see an Fr like you have never seen...and it will be pathetic....
I would certainly expect:
Calls for violence
Calls for impeachment
death threats
general hysteria
people saying the government is coming RIGHT NOW
and some good old fashioned Democrat hating. it will be a long and sad day. I hope no one gets stupid and makes things even worse.

I have been very outspoken in my outrage at what is being perpetrated on this poor woman. I have even shed tears of frustration over it, but my fight was for her to be allowed to live. Once she dies, it is no longer my fight. Greer, Michael Schaivo and the people who allowed this to happen are going to be held accountable some day and it won't be to me, to the Republicans or to FR. It is God who will have the last say on this one.

Yes. This case will haunt the nation for years - - regardless of what the spineless politicians hope for. This will not go away. They will all be looking for an angle, or a way to "position" themselves depending on the direction of the wind. Either that or heading for the high grass.
It's a shame, too. Only a week ago, somebody in a position to act could have nailed down a place in history and had the nation at their feet by simply doing the right thing. Somebody needed to take extraordinary measures to save the life of this innocent American citizen.
.... tick.... tick....

I think that in the outrage tht is sure to follow Terri's death, the ones who voted to save her life will be seen as being in the right. The ones who voted for her to die and the ones who hid behind not casting a vote at all are going to suffer greatly for this. This will come up when they campaign in 2006. Their opponents will bring it up, count on it. How can they answer?

It will be a sad day, but not for the reasons you've described. It will be a sad day because someone has died needlessly. It will be a pathetic day for that reason. It will be a violent day for that reason - the violence being against Terri.
Some are more outraged over the outrage over the outrage than at the outrage itself.

I did, but since I won't blame the Bushes, I am considered part of the culture of death by some....
Unfortunately, sometimes someone needs to die needlessly for a movement to get started. Judicial reforms? On their way most likely.
There is also a very very badly written law that the state of Florida passed. the one that says feeding tubes are considered the same as a ventilator. I dont know who sold them on this crap, but what's done is done.
protest if you like. But let's remember there is more than one person in that hospice and families in a time of great stress and grief in there as well. They dont need some nut yelling in a bull horn....

Thanks, John and dutchess...well written and very compelling piece. I perceive there will be a fair amount of bitterness in this country after her death. I pray this is not the case.

Thanks for the well thought-out response.
Like you, I'm thousands of miles from the action.
Also like you for sure, I've got a job to do.
