Ping to judicial nomination ping list!
Please make plans to attend. At the very least, and if it is impossible for you to come to this, please contribute to the cost of the event. Per Jim Robinson's announcement above, please designate your state and indicate that your contribution is for the March for Justice II when contributing.
(See related threads as referenced at number 12 on this thread.)
Kay R. Daly has asked me to maintain and use this list started by her as she is running Coalition for a Fair Judiciary, and now battling to get judicial nominees a vote on the Senate floor.
Please ping me or FReepmail me to get on or off the list.
Don't be just a spectator, join the list and join the fight to get President Bush's nominees approved.

Jenny & TRT,
Jim Robinson is looking for FReepers from Colorado to attend per #67 above. Please be so kind as to ping and contact other Colorado FReepers about this, as well as considering a trip to DC for this important event.

I've never been to DC during the Cherry Blossom Festival. It's got to be gorgeous. You going? I might be able to make a one day down and back trip, but I'm not sure yet.

Bill,
I am still nursing my baby and can't leave him for more than a few hours, so the trip is out for me, not the season in my life to do big Freeps. I can usually sneak away for an hour or two, like I did for the Denver Freep, but to make a trip is not something I can do right now.
I don't know too many other Colorado people, but will send along an email to the group to see if anyone wants to attend.

One way would be the impeachment of a Justice. Rehnquist has worried about this in several of his reports on the state of the courts. The standard for service (good behavior) is far less than that of the President (High crimes or misdemeanors). If the democrats bulk at this they could be committing political suicide. Renquist knows that a precedent for Judicial Impeachment would greatly change the balance of power among the branches of government. It is a big risk. The Justices also know it is a losing issue politically, it could force the appointment of much more conservative Justices, thereby overturning many of there cherished decisions.
