This is pointless gibberish to blame Clinton on something tangible. If I recall correctly...Bubba changed their mission while they were "in country"..lets' call it, "mission creep". ...GWHB let the USA Chief of Staff run that operation (getting food to the people), Bubba thouht he could do it better (hence "his police action")...Bubba wanted to run everything from the WH, like LBJ did in 65-69...rem: Les Aspin debacle

I disagree. The President and Jeb did what was right and what was in thier power to do. Neither of them have absolute power. Listen to a little more Mikey Savage (and finish killing the rest of your brain cells)

I was wounded in Somalia. Shot in the face. It took Bill Clinton three weeks to show up at Walter Reed to see us. Even so he had to be dragged kicking and screaming. He wanted nothing to do with us. He did not give a crap about me and 70 plus others that were wounded or the ones that died the day the Blackhawks were shotdown. He saw 3rd Ranger Battalion as an embarrassment to him. That was okay. We were pretty much embarrassed to have him as Commander in Chief ourselves.

Each night this week, CSPAN2 is playing one interview. It says 8:30 CST, but last night it ran a little later. Tonight will be the lady/major who lost both legs in a Blackhawk.

The married couple on right now, the one with a woman with one leg, who has an arm that was so damaged they used part of her stomach to rebuild it....
wow. I would buy the book too.
Now the woman says, I would still like to serve. "I have a bond w/ my fellow soldiers that is very hard to explain".
She says, I just choose to serve by being soldier. Lady, thank you for simply talking about being 'service-oriented'.
And now, she is about to demo her computerized leg. Ok folks. This is one man who is impressed.

Maybe they will teach you a thing or two. You can't continue to make goofy remarks in a military operation, especially about military operations, and not get noticed....real quick like!

Right after the Ranger unit was mauled (3 Oct 03) the Army with obvious White House approval pushed a very robust 'security reinforcement' as it was called into Somalia. This was of course the armored vehicles and other heavy equipment that had previously been denied the force in Somalia as being unduly provocative and presenting the wrong image to the world. US forces were being embroiled in what was for all intents a war with the local Somali clans in Mog via the specific language of the UNOSOM II charter. The true reasons for why the mission of UNOSOM was so radically changed has never been satisfactorily explained and their is ample evidence that it relates in some covert way to relationships the Boutros family of which the UN Sec Gen was a member had with certain Somalis who had been shut out of power by the current set of tribal leaders.
For what ever reasons we had been fighting the Somalis all summer. Using TOW-Cobras to blast them on a regular basis. At the same time this unacknowledged war was going on the Sec Def was willing to engage in putting soldiers at direct risk by supporting a transparently ridiculous PR driven pose that US forces were only there to be peace keepers as shown by not deploying heavy weapons or keeping an AC-130 on station at Mog.
After the Rangers were cut up enough heavy equipment of all sorts to fight a good sized war was dispatched. What use was made of this capability. Zero. We hunkered down in a number of large defended enclaves until a suitable lapse of time went by and we could leave without looking like we were fleeing. The Army leadership on the ground did petition to conduct high visibility security patrols which would have amounted to tank/APC promenades covered by attack copters through the turf of the clans to make it clear we could crush them anytime we wished and to show the Islamwackos that were present that the infidels had very long teeth. Of course the White House would have none of it believing correctly that if no reports of combat with the natives occurred than the country would pretty much forget about Somalia and the unfortunate events of 3 Oct. Unfortunately our enemies didn't and took our measure as being weak and craven.

Sooooo. . . .would you like to share those enlistment documents. I hear there is a fax machine in Abilene, TX with CBS on quick-dial.
