Historically Christians have tried, tortured, hung and burned alive vast numbers of people because they were suspected of heresy, Judaism, Witchcraft…; slashed off people’s heads on public streets for not confessing that Jesus Christ was God; and condemned the works of some of histories greatest scientists, theologians, philosophers and artists.Granted there were those that PROFESSED to be Christian and carried out those acts, but such actions are NOT sanctioned by scripture, so it is really difficult to assign those perpetrators to the ranks of Christian. I can say I am a Christian and do a lot of things, but to truly be a Christian REQUIRES a change of heart that can ONLY come through the work of the Holy Spirit, and not by any effort of man. When the heart is changed the actions will change also.

You seem to cast it wholesale darkly. I'd suspect from some personal affront or hurt in your rearing or relationships.
There have been many more scientists, leaders, hospitals, universities, enormously more community development; aid etc. given in His Name than any amount of damage you want to add up over all the 2000 years involved.
I think you need to do better homework before you make such a brazen, lop-sided and inaccurate broadside.

They surely are, because they are fantasy, no matter how much we might wish it. So, may I assume you have better intelligence and more reliable sources to share?

My intent was not to cast it wholesale darkly, rather to get my point across. The point being, that perhaps Islam can evolve in a way similar to that of Christianity.

You have told me in your short post that:
1) You have no solid expreience with such front line troops in such matters--no real personal relationships; overseas living close to such efforts; close foreign observations of such efforts etc.
2) You have a strong bias against such things being true.
3) You may well have a chrnoically skeptical bias that covers a lot of categories
4) You may well have a deep inner gritch that hopes such things are not true in order for you to justify other unknown negativity.
Basically, I don't think much of your assessment.

I assume you have actual historical evidence to back up your claims.

My concern is that for every Muslim who converts to Christianity, there are two Christians who become Muslims, particularly in Central and South America.

AMEN TO THAT, TONY!!!!!!!!
Good Morning FRiend!!!!!!!
This is what we've been praying for, in light of the fact that, we, as God's people are going into the heat of battle, behind the lines, (into the biblical land of old, so to speak)!!!!!!!
The gospel of Grace for life, is GOOD NEWS to those, that are DEAD in the depths of darkness!!!!!

You honestly believe that 1.5 million Muslims--that is *Muslims*--have been converted to Christianity since 911? That number is used, except that later it says "scores" in Afghanistan--and we don't know if they were Muslim or not.
If it is not fantasy, Paul is turning green with envy. Your mentioning similar estimations in China being conservative makes me wonder if your numbers aren't subject to the same kind of wishful thinking as this article's.
And the accusation of being dismissive is ad hominem. Whatever my personality, the argument stands. Those numbers aren't close to being substantiated.

Certainly a hazard there.
Is that a statistic from data or a fear/concern?
Thankfully, Charismatic/Pentecostal Christianity where God manifests His power, healing etc. authentically, dramatically is also growing dramatically in South and Central America.
