For some reason, I'm unable to post the picture in which they are posing with the M240 squad automatic weapon and a variant of the M16. I welcome any updates or corrections.

A soldier's job is to kill people and break things.
Is there something about this these school officials don't understand?

Coming from this part of Oregon, it doesn't surprise me. Its one of the reasons I'm glad I left the Northwest, this would probably not happen in Utah.

Good point. While zero tolerance for a kid bringing a gun to school makes some sense, zero tolerance for positive potrayals of how guns should be used doesn't. And why does the zero tolerance for guns policy cover pictures? Do they not allow history texts because there are pictures of guns in them?

Career day photo of soldier with gun puts school district in a bind Being put into "a bind" because of a photo. How would/should/could a picture (A FRIGGIN' PICTURE!) of a soldier put anyone in "a bind".
If these people weren't making "the rules", this would be funny.
Let's see if I remember this correctly:
"Sticks and Stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me".
I'm pretty sure pictures of soldiers falls into this axiom. Something about "everything I needed to know...".
Simply ridiculous.

It pictures the Marine hefting a big gun while decked in military desert camies (camouflage). A Marine with a big gun? I'm sure that's what they all claim.
Isn't there a little poem about the differnce between a rifle and a gun?

Do those liberal jackasses let their history books contain that photo of the Marines raising the US flag on Mt Suribachi at the battle for Iwo Jima? There are 4 grungy devil dogs all with big guns in that picture.
