It's just that the Jewish leaders acted as our voices and the Romans acted as our hands. But they are in no sense more responsible than the rest of us.
Exactly, in our unregenerate state we would have done the same thing were we in their position. This is in addition to the fact that our sin created the need for atonement to begin with.
"He hung around prostitutes and other sinners. He also broke the Sabbath day which is the Law of Moses."
It is still baffling that Flavius Josephus only recorded a sentence or two about "the Nazarene" for prosperity.
Acts 3:13 through Acts 3:15
The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus. You handed him over to be killed, and you disowned him before Pilate, though he had decided to let him go.
14 You disowned the Holy and Righteous One and asked that a murderer be released to you.
15 You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of this.
I didn't realize he had gotten rich off his writings.
He may have felt the topic was sufficiently covered elsewhere. It is notable that he differentiates Jesus from other so-called prophets of the time in that he unequivocally calls him "the Christ." All the others were reported with obvious tones of skepticism.
That's right! SIN is what killed Jesus.
GOD'S PLan
1) Have Judas betray Christ check
2) Have power brokers of Jerusalem arrest Jesus check
3) Have Roman Empire execute him check
4) Have Jesus rise from dead to forgive sin check
Good job everyone, you did what you were compelled too
"Everything is fixed and you can't change it." - Jesus to Pilate
Everyone who sins had a hand in it...myself included.
I don't understand how you came to this conclusion.
1 John 2:2
He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for£ the sins of the whole world.
Yes, I heard that.
Amen
This falls under a category called "cop-out". I wonder if the author is familiar with the expression or did the author think only he was familiar with it.
The author is free to make a movie about Jesus that represent his views.
He did not break the "Sabboth Day", which is the law of Moses, he broke the traditions that men had added to the law.
If Jesus had not been born 2000 years ago and rejected by the people of the age, and if He suddenly came today, bringing a message of peace and anti-materialism and giving of one's wealth and time to care for our neighbors and performing mysterious miracles and decrying the TV evangelists and moneychangers, we would kill him too. I'm quite sure of it. So we share the guilt, and we share the reward.

He accumulated wealth through network marketing and really established "Jesus" as a brand name. Afterwards there were book readings, speaking engagements, the works. I forget who the publicist was but he did bang up job.
Doc - We didn't pull the monkey off their backs, CHRIST DID:
"Father, forgive them..."
Are you of the opinion that Christ's mercy was insufficient? Or do we have to wait for you to forgive them before we "pull the monkey off their backs"...?
"Everyone who sins had a hand in it...myself included."
Amen.
