You are not acting peevish. There is also no reason for me to take anything personal, in what you are explaining.
Though my statment still stands correct - abeit in my opinion, I will reprhase it to clarify it.
A person may be given a building in which people may worship.
A person cannot be given a 'church,' for it is of the Body of Christ.
I hope it reads easier on the eyes.
No, they don't. Local police officers and sheriffs do not answer to him. They answer to local officials and the courts. the courts said they are to enforce their order, and they said they would, directly, to the state law enforcement coming. Not wanting to have a civil war over it, they backed off, as they should have. Saying that Jeb, because you or someone else says so, should go beyond that and order officers to shoot other officers to save one woman is unreasonable.
People act like Jeb could stop all of this. He couldn't. He didn't even have the backing of the state senate. It would have a been a disaster.
Stop acting like this is some kind of computer game where you can just order people around. There are laws to follow and even if you want to overrule a court, you have to have more people with you than just you and some state police. When the legislature, the people themselves (who would have disapproved of a firefight over Terri), and the courts are all against you, its time to back down.
Apparently, you don't get to talk at all. ; )
I would to do it in a flash if I were a resident of Florida and were an elected official. I love nothing better than a good political fight. It's a high for me.
hardly...you want to start a war over one woman.
#251. That is what he did. Then he meekly sat down and gave up. The murder has continued.
You don't need to be an elected official or a resident of Florida to make a difference.
You should go. So should the rest of these folks who think Jeb is such a failure.
There are what - 100 pro-life demonstrators outside that hospice? That's a disgrace, don't you think?
I'll say this for Terri, she's tough as nails to have lasted this long without food or water. For a person wanting to die, she sure has held on and hung tough. It is making Felos look like a jackass standing there casually remarking on how she isn't nearly gone yet.
PINELLAS PARK, Fla. (AP) - With their daughter drawing closer to death, Terri Schiavo's parents all but exhausted their options Thursday after the highest court in the land and a Florida judge rejected their desperate pleas to reinsert the brain-damaged woman's feeding tube.Bob and Mary Schindler were left with the slim hope that Gov. Jeb Bush would somehow find a way to intervene or a federal judge who had turned them down before would see things their way. (Which like Judge Bork said below...Gov. Bush doesn't have much he can do at this point.)
...and Milquetoasts in State Capitols and White Houses.
You continue to start your reasoning with aq flawed albeit fair sounding premise: "Jeb can't call out the national guard everytime there's a threat of someone being taken off the tubes." Here's a clue for you: it is through the action of saving Terri that the impetus is created for the changes you appear to advocate, thus the governor wouldn't have to 'save every single endangered person'. Get a clue ...
See that's what I mean. We need to elect people like you to be in office just so you can get your "highs".
Good reason to be in office.
BTW...do you have to live in Florida in order to go there and demonstrate?
I also read somewhere that he said that there is to much emotion involved in this. Shame on Jeb and his brother! I have been one of their biggest fans up until this. They have done wrong and I hope they wil realize it, but somehow I doubt it. I think Americans will see that it is them who in this are the cowards! Yes, Greer, HINO, and Felos are all responsible, but Jeb and George are worthless and certainly they have no bravery! COWARDS!!!!!!!!!
That is what's happening. And it's the Pinellas Sheriff's department that made it that way. They are acting as a warlord clan against another clan, and trying to legitimize it by chatting about "the court order" as if the court order overrides every other law and institution in the state. Or the country, for that matter.
Bush should have declared war on those SOB's right there. They're not just out of line, they are way OVER the line.
I think that it's just more evidence of something far deeper going on here than a fight over a court order. The Sheriff and his department keep popping up in the resume's of various people in this deal - Schiavo himself, Mrs. Schindler, Felos and his buddies in the hospice. Those deputies are holding the line for something else - like someone looking into the dark attic and finding the skeletons.
There are laws, and there are Higher Laws.
How many people do you think it should be?
Did the number on 911 meet with your quota?
There are, after all, people in this country who believe that not enough people died to be the cause for this 'war on terror' that we are now in.
Just interested in a number...that's all.
But true. That's what is REALLY offensive.
Or may god tell him to live by the rule of law like all other men should.
And here's a clue for you...it is thru this action that an impetus is created for future Governor's (Democrats maybe) to feel justified in calling out the Martial Law in order to "save a life".
Really bad precedent to set.
that's not my point. and its apples and oragnes, and you are getting increasingly deseparate in your comparisons.
