Thanks to Syria for controlling that blood sheds. Unfortunately, they did not push the Lebanese people to get their own troop.

Syria was the killers that they stopped. On one hand they invaded and torched the country with a terrorist army, on the other hand they "stopped" the bloodshed by following that invasion with uniformed troops.

Hizbulla and Hamas are Iran and Syrias sock puppets.

Hizbullah was funded initially by the Iranian as a terrorist Islamic fanatic movement. Syria needed to support this terrorist organization as a leverage against Israel in negotiating withdrawal from the Golan height. This whole bloody ME is full of pressure, and counter pressure. The current atmosphere of solid US stand is very encouraging in getting the terrorists to reconsider this approach. Provided that Israel work together with the Palestinians to create better stable coexistence. At this juncture, it is counter productive for the US to invade Syria or even push for a change in its dictatorship leaders. The simple reason is once chaos starts in that barbaric region it is hard to contain. It always explodes along side religion sectarian line. To this end, protection of the minority Christians in the Arab world should be number one priority to the Bush administration. Allow the carrot and the stick to take its course in reforming these barbarians. Invading them, and going house to house is the worst mistake that Israel has done in the West bank, and now we have our hands full from the same mistake in Iraq.

Take a look at Saudi Arabia. Stability is exactly why we are not pressuring them, and terrorists are being trained there in far greater numbers than Lebanon.

I agree with everything that you are saying except one point. Why is it necessary for Israel to give into the Arab League Proxy army Palestine? Heck they are having elections with HAMAS as a leading party. They are terrorists, and have committed more homicide bombings than any other place on earth by a factor of 50 to 1!

Paying ransom breeds kidnappers.

Also Going house to house killed only 52 arabs in a whole town rigged as a fort. Beats the hell out of blowing it up and letting God sort them out.

But, you may have a point there... -grin-

What you fail to mention is that Syria acts like a middle man from Iran to Hezbollah for arms deals, narcotics, and other contraband. Syria's interests lies with it keeping control of Lebanon in order to protect its economic resources as well as a strategical place in the Middle East.

You are correct. If this trend of moderation takes over the ME, and Israel trusts Syria enough to give it back the Golan Heights, we may see better coexistence with dictators than with free for all democracy. The simple reason is the only group that is well organized and armed is the Islamic Jihadists, hence they will benefit the most from democracy. As a matter of fact, you will hear the cry coming from the Egyptian Muslim fanatics, and the Algerian democracy about 10 years ago produced mostly Muslim fanatic leaders.
