But the ACPD investigation dead-ended, with La Belle recently quoted as saying that the group needed Michael Schiavos permission to examine Terri and that Schiavo had refused. La Belle said that although the agency had reviewed court files and other medical records that were available, the investigation could not go forward because the medical expert needed to examine Terri before rendering any decision if she had been mistreated. Schiavo's permission was needed before ACPD went in to check on Terri? Hell, every parent who is keeping a halfed-starved child locked up in a closet ought to be able to do the very same thing.
