"If I were Terri's father it would be time to risk arrest and rescue my daughter."

Now that's an idea. I think alot of people would be more than glad to help. Wisk her away where she can't be found.

A new term I just made up, from the Italian word disidratare, which means to dehydrate. We have glitterati, and now we have disidratti, or should it be disidratatti? Actually, I think that would be a better grammar. : )

Thomas Sowell is a national treasure. He is the most logical person around, and in this case logic and sentiment are in perfect accord.

I can add nothing more to his analysis. It is perfect.

If I were Terri's father it would be time to risk arrest and rescue my daughter.

Well I don't exactly see overwhelming number of concern people milling around the nursing home to help him make that a reality. For all the smoke, I dont see any fire. In a different, better time, the police would have been overrun and the woman would have been rescued.

I heard one of the doctors say that she swallows a great deal of naturally produced saliva every day, and does not drool.

The real question is whether Greer has overstepped his authority by ordering that no one can give Terri food or water by mouth. This on the face of it cannot be legal and why George or Jeb Bush haven't blasted Greer out of that courtroom on this one I will never understand.

I know facts are inconvenient little things, but the reason is -- hold on to your tinfoil hat now -- Judge Greer never ordered any such thing. All of his orders are scanned and available at www.abstractappeal.com. So take an hour or two and go read them all and report back when you find one that says he is "... ordering that no one can give Terri food or water by mouth."

We'll wait. Hint: you won't find it because it didn't happen. The only -- repeat only -- decision for which the husband/guardian needed judicial authorization was the removal of the feeding tube. That's what he got. That's what every court from here to Timbuktu has reviewed and found wholly justified by Terri's expressed wishes and her PVS.

Wanna take the challenge? I thought not. More fun to make things up, isn't it?

If they are arrested, there would be such an outcry from people that something would have to be done. Seems like her family just wants everyone else to stick their necks out and do something.

You are assuming something would be done if they are arrested. You errr. Nothing would be done. There is no groundswell of support to help them break their daughter's out.

Think about this. In this country, people ramapage after football and basketball game wins. And football and basket ball are in essence, not real. They are pseudoevents provided for profit.

A real event occurs which requires emotion, and action. And the men and women of this country change the channel. We will lose.

Well said and so true.

This is no states rights issue as purported by the MSM and many misinformed posters on this forum.

It is a case of government sanctioned killing by starvation.

Look out America, what can be done to Terri can jump up at any time and bite you in the butt.

Bull S#!t. I am proud of what the Bush brothers have done.

However should he go in and take Terri he would probably win the next election in a land slide.

George and Jeb ... have U.S. Marshalls and state troopers at their disposal.

So, you're at home with the concept that US Marshalls and state troopers ought to be the personal goon squads of whoever happens to be president or governor? We are a nation of laws and the law happens to be against you right now. You can protest it, shout about it even choose to get arrested for it. But no president or governor has the right to use public forces for his personal agenda when the law is arrayed against him. And conservatives, of all people, should never suggest it.

"That's what every court from here to Timbuktu has reviewed and found wholly justified by Terri's expressed wishes"

Expressed wishes? I believe you had better do a little more research yourself before you lecture anyone on "facts".

Unless you take the word of Mikey the sociopath, who suddenly remembered her wishes after seven years and a settlement.

It's a semi-verbalized expletive. (I have a lot of children.)
