Such a talented musician, he will be missed.
RIP Rod!

Sad day for the Blues and Rock-N-Roll. He will be remembered as one of the greats. Hopefully guitar mags will take the time and print out his musical archives so many others can learn from him.

Last year I saw (and later met) Kim Simmonds at a small theater nearby my home. He was leading the latest incarnation of his Savoy Brown band. Very enjoyable concert.
It was the first split of Savoy Brown circa 1973 that led to the formation of Foghat.
Somehow I missed that Lonesome Dave was dead.
When did that happen?

Somehow I missed that Lonesome Dave was dead. When did that happen? In 2000, from cancer.

What kind of guitar is that?
Sort of looks like a double cutaway Les Paul.

God Bless Rod Price and his surviving family. Thanks for the music Mr. Price, now it's rock and roll time. Rest and rock and roll in peace.

Geez, I hate to rain on anyones parade, but Foghat is on my list of the worst all time concerts it was ever my misfortune to see.
I figured the first time was a fluke, heck anyone can have an off night, but after the second time I had to say that those guys really, really sucked.
Maybe it's just me.

On this thread announcing Danny Joe Brown's death Double bummer.Love both Foghat and Molly Hatchet[early, not the current version]the great ones are dropping like flies these days.Lonesome Dave[Foghat singer] is gone too. Can't stand what they pass off as rock n'roll now.It sure has taken a nosedive in the last few years.

Lord only knows how many times I tortured my neighbors by blasting their version of "Maybellene". It seems I'm reading about the departed musical icons of my youth more frequently of late. God bless them each and all though.... they helped spare me the endurance of disco.

And the music greats just keep on dying. When will the madness end? Rod Price is dead. Molly Hatchet lead singer has bit the dust. Half of McFadden & Whitehead - dead. That guy from that rock band that did those phenomenal guitar solos - dead. We have a dead "Ol Dirty Bastard." I hardly knew ye "Ol Dirty Bastard"! The great Johnny Cash is gone, gone, gone. Ditto for Outlaw Waylon Jennings and also that guy whose name I cannot remember but he'd dead as well and we'll never see him in concert again. Laura Branigan, dead. Ray Stevens, dead. Chris LeDoux, Sammi Smith, "Dimebag" Darrell Abbot, that dude who played drums in that rock band and the list goes on and on. All dead.
At this rate, we will soon run out of living musicians.

There is a rock and roll heaven. Although I was never the greatest drummer ever, I hope to be there someday right along with Bonzo.
