They're following form. And that will give Greer time to issue an injunction, which the DCF will be forced to honor.
The problem here is that it's not a normal case of abuse, since Terri has been involved in legal disputes for some time. The sense of the law is that the DCF can take custody if someone is being abused.
In this situation, with all the court proceedings, it could easily be argued that due process is already in place. If Greer issues an injunction or restraining order, the DCF will not act.
They know that, so they telegraphed their intentions. It's up to Greer, quite frankly, and I suspect I know what he'll decide.
Don't get your hopes up.

This may be a banner year for the Pajamahadeen. If this goes Terri's way, people will look back and see how the Internet rallied an entire nation of people to prayer and sacrifice and activism to save this woman's life.
We're not out of the woods yet, though.
Just thought I should share this.....the Doctor with this new evidence is Willian Chersire. He's written about euthinasia in the past and will framed as a right wing nut....he's very qualified so he has to be taken seriously but most of hiss work is in Bioethics recently.

I think what is before Greer right now is a request to unseal documents. This doctor wants to see records. I believe Terri can be taken into protective custody without Greers blessing.

I would too. Why wouldn't someone who is a vegetable be allowed to live? Do we have to perform to some standard in order to be allowed to live? Yes - according the death chanters in our legislature. Even if I were a drooling mass of skin, maybe I'd be okay with it, even if others are not. So what even if she were a 'vegetable?' She's alive and that is what matters.

Lots, to be sure. People step outside the bounds of the law for all kinds of purposes, both good and evil. Why is it that the ones intent on evil are almost always more willing to do so, and are almost always more likely to get away with it.
The right thing to do is save Terri's life, and if any one of these neutered politicians would grow another set of cajones and get her back on food and water, regardless of the consequences, I'd have a great deal more respect for them.
