Shocking but not surprising. Welcome to the nation of death. Welcome to a nation in the latter stages of moral decay and in open rebellion against all traditional values of western civilization.
The Constitutional separation of powers has been perverted to the point that now the Judicial Branch holds more power than both the other two combined. The U.S. is no longer a Constitutional Republic governed by 3 branches of government, it's now in effect a dictatorship whose laws are made and enforced by an unelected, unaccountable, and untouchable judiciary.
And the truly frightening aspect of this is that if the polls concerning the Shiavo case can be believed, that situation is quite satisfactory to 3/4 of the dictators' subjects.

But still, the parents and grandfather should have been the only ones who could have made that decision. The mother that called her sick out of school should be criminally liable in some respect.
To: stylin_geek
Outrageous!
If you substitute anything else for "abortion" in this story, the faux grandma would be under arrest for kidnapping.
This is completely appalling.

Why aren't there consequences for statutory rape and kidnapping? Why aren't the LEOs in this particular jurisdiction removed from office for dereliction of duty?
There should be butts in jail for this!!

That's exactly right. I feel an inalienable right and responsibility was given to me and my husband when we had our daughter. I take that very seriously and in situations like this, the only one I have to answer to is God. No freaking way the same article would have been if it were my daughter.

This, to me, is inconceivable. Like you say about piercing, when I took my daughter to have her naval pierced we had to show proof (of ownership shall you say)in the form of a BC, her picture ID and my picture ID, all due to the fact that she was under 18. There is something dreadfully wrong with this picture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's called the right to privacy - it's been turned into a pretzel...

I completely agree. However, some people think the woman took the girl from school. And, at first reading, that was my impression, too. I just wanted to clear that up.

The police in the community in which the family lives
allegedly told the girl's mom that they couldn't intervene
despite her making a charge that her daughter had been
raped (by statute) because the charge was stale--7 weeks
after the incident. Then why the hell is JACKSON on trial? This is BS!BS!F-BS!
Everyone involved should be jailed and sued into their NEXT GENERATION!
Damn this pisses me off! AHHHHHHH!

"multiple abortions because they can never be bothered to use contraceptives, don't show any sign of being traumatized by the experience -- they don't make any real effort to avoid repeating the experience over and over again, so it must not be a big deal to them." Is that sad or criminal (in a just world)?

Of course you're kidding. You would never want to kill your grandchild, increase your daughter's chances of becoming depressed, or committing suicide, not to mention the deep psychological scars the poor thing would carry for the rest of her life? The consequences of abortion are far more diabolical than you realize.

It is a nauseating revelation of the moral insanity of our nation, an insanity which increases exponentially with each millimeter of distance our culture puts between itself and our Biblical roots. Dead-on, Dan. (new nickname? Dead-On Dan?) As society travels the wide road (and a few freepers are happy to be on it) the Sodom scene from DeMille's Bible seems less and less abnormal.

Considering I had to sign 3 forms in order for my 17 year old son to be able to get an allergy shot without my presence Apples and oranges. An allergy shot is a medical procedure. An abortion is a sacrament of the secular religion.

Hail to the Culture of Death. And people (even some FReepers) wonder why law-abiding citizens are so cynical, and jaded about the police, judges, and the court system as it is now so perversely practiced.

The parents are expected to file charges. I should hope so - and a hefty civil lawsuit should go along with it. This is an outrage.
