I think Campbell said he was the author of the amendment, but that it still had too many problems and they were hoping to fix it on the floor.
Vote underway a couple of nays so far.
Generally speaking without a medical miracle, if the tube is not reinserted, this girl will be dead sometime between tomorrow, Holy Thursday, and the end of the month. Lord help us.
Amen, and may God's Blessings be upon the whole Keyes family. They have my eternal respect. Those kids are great!

I think the fight is more over "coequal vs one branch being superior."
Here's an interesting story.
The execution was halted late Tuesday by U.S. District Judge Terry Means in Fort Worth.
Means was acting on an appeal from Staley's lawyer who argued the convicted killer is mentally incompetent and should not be put to death.
"Judge Means' order was that nobody's ever heard this guy's competency question," attorney Jack Strickland said.
We should all send bottles of water to the congress, sentate, judges and the politians in Florida. Note on the label this is what you denied Terri.
Don't know about that call
But he has been tad sarcastic with some callers who think Terry should die
3 of every 4 posts is on this topic.
I thought he was just taking roll for those who want to debate.
I have not heard the vote.. just a call of names to see who will vote.
Sen. Webster acknowledged that the FL House will not pass the bill as-is. Will come back to the Senate with a revised bill that will have to be debated. May take some time to do all of this ...
One of my friends called the Right-to-Life Committee, and they said to call President Bush and tell him to put Terri in protective custody while the case is going thru the courts. His phone comment line # is 202-456-1414; e-mail president@whitehouse.gov. Please spread the word.
Maybe the Schindlers' attorney(s) read your posts and corrected the omissions. Dammit, that's not how this works. An appeal cannot change the original plea. They have to file a new complaint in front of Whittemore if they want to start a new case. The case they are appealing is ruined. It's absolutely the wrong case to be pursuing. They will lose every time with that. They need to start over, not appeal. And they'd better hurry. |
A few days ago they arrested the former sheriff of lee county for the same thing.
Isn't it telling that they're more concerned over the rights of criminals than they are the death warrant of an innocent woman?
Yeah, I liked that guy's analogy.
Yep...but the judiciary has gotten it out of balance...
