My wife and I have decided to get it in writing that we would not want to be kept alive after one year. We're also having it written that if the spouse moves on the gaurdianship goes to our respective families.

I'd like to see this law in every state in the union, although I'm greatly opposed to death by starvation regardless of the circumstances.

I am really disappointed in our media (again). There is a huge difference between "brain dead", "coma", and "persistent vegetative state", none of which this patient is. The real issue is "do we kill people because there is no hope for improvement"? This issue has nothing to do with the definition of the above three words because none of them apply to this person. It really is that simple.

The libs are foolishly handing the conservatives a huge win with this. Over the next 50 years the libs (and not a few Republicans) have made promises through Medicare that fiscally can't be kept. With this case we have a precedent that allows us to kill people who aren't terminal, not in a neurologically hopeless situation, but are just "inconvenient". The Judges have mandated it. Now we can "save" Medicare because "when it's hopeless we just stop giving you water, go ahead, ask Terry Schiavo". And the libs won't even be able to blame conservatives, they are on record as being against the whole thing.

At least this case should cause people to wake up to the Judicial Tyranny we face. It is time to term limit judges. Past time.

What I was trying to say was there is something more to it than just the sin of adultery... Like possibly money.

You're right, I'm not a lawyer. I couldn't get past the mandatory gig as a public defender.

Me: Your Honor, my client pleads guilty.

Defendant: What?

Me: Well, you are.

Wait a minute...michael shiavo's marriage is one of those "rock solid" moral liberal marriages that the demonrats keep touting as proving the blue states are more moral than the red states because their divorce rates are lower.

Now THIS is a great idea.

Florida should have thought of it first.

Hopefully, more states will consider a bill like this. This could have prevented this whole situation with Terri Schiavo.

If you "move on," you forfeit your spousal rights. That's as fair as it gets.

precisely why he went out and had a woman on the side, and wants to starve his wife to death...

And why he didn't want her to get any therapy.

Agree??

None are so blind as those who will not see.

Ain't it the truth?

Numerous times I'd heard my dear mother say just that.

(God rest her precious soul.)

Afer the Clinton appointed courts get done tearing down the foundations of this country, then I will agree that there are no state rights.
