Glorious Saint Michael, guardian and defender of the Church of Jesus Christ, come to the assistance of His followers, against whom the powers of hell are unchained. Guard with special care our Holy Father, the Pope, and our bishops, priests, all our religious and lay people, and especially the children.

Saint Michael, watch over us during life, defend us against the assaults of the demon, and assist us especially at the hour of death. Help us achieve the happiness of beholding God face to face for all eternity. Saint Michael, intercede for me with God in all my necessities, especially (mention special petition). Obtain for me a favorable outcome in the matter I recommend to you.

Mighty prince of the heavenly host, and victor over rebellious spirits, remember me for I am weak and sinful and so prone to pride and ambition. Be for me, I pray, my powerful aid in temptation and difficulty, and above all do not forsake me in my last struggle with the powers of evil. Amen

BEFORE we decide to totally undermine our constitutional republic for the sake of one person... Just an idea :)

uhhh... this is NOT just one person.

Have you read the Melton audit of Judge Greer? This is a LOT wider than just one family too.

Michael Schiavo is an ammoral person. Nothing anyone says, no matter if the President himself speaks against Michael's actions, nothing will deter an amoral person from making amoral decisions

No one is amoral. Animals are amoral. Humans are either moral or immoral.

The frustration we're all feeling is that we're seeing evil and the consequences of sin. We have to remind ourselves that God is bigger than all of this.

"All things work for for good, to those who love Him [Christ], and are called according to His purpose." He does not condone evil, or cause it, and yet He uses all of this somehow to continue to offer us His love and grace through Jesus, if we only will believe.

And with that I finally shut up for the evening. And with every sip of beverage, I wish I could share it with Terri.

Imagine being arrested for trying to give a sick dying person a drink of water. What's this country coming too?

You know, a governor in Illinois recently overturned around 160 death sentences by executive order. He went against the will of 160 juries, and nobody screamed abuse of power, now did they?

No, he was applauded for his "compassion" in pardoning vicious murderers.

Terri Schiavo is INNOCENT. She's done nothing wrong to deserve this horrific death sentence.

Very few people are going to have a problem with the President or the Governor pardoning an innocent woman.

Even Jesse Jackson, of all people, was lamenting the fact that they are starving her to death. He said tonight on MSNBC that this was totally wrong.
And he's no friend of George or Jeb.

My email to the Whitehouse just a few minutes ago:

Hello President Bush, Vice-President Cheney,

Here are a couple ideas to save Terri Schaivo.

1) I wonder what would happen if you went to visit Terri with the Secret Service in tow and decided to take her to a safe haven aboard Air Force One. I don't think any Florida law enforcement personnel (God Bless Them) would stand in your way. This may be the only remaining hope.

2) The Vatican has come out pretty strongly in opposition to her execution. I wonder if anyone over there has considered naming Terri a diplomat or special envoy. That might well kick the authority to order the reattachment of her feeding tube to the State Department.

thanks,

Tony in Boulder, Colorado

If Bill Clinton can pardon Marc Rich then President Bush can surely make the trip to Florida to save Terri Schaivo.

Exactly how does either President Bush or Governor Bush have the power to stop this?

By walking into that hospital room and giving her a cup of water. Who could stop them?

I really believe St. Pio is the right person to turn to. He knew the face of evil here on Earth and he fought it so hard. He would also interceed for the sick, and brought about many bodily healings.

St. Pio, pray for Terri and help us all in this fight. God has listened to your plea on so many occasions, please interceed for us in this our of darkness. Amen.

I'm sorry, again, for seeming obtuse, but doesn't the lack of direction from the individual, in this case Terri, mean there is no direction except that that comes from the court?

And, what, I ask again, gives the court the right to approve her death rather than uphold her right to life?

The trial court did hear evidence of Terri's preferences. It's fairly easy to criticize the evidence as self-serving given Michael's obvious conflicts of interest, but if it's the only evidence the court has, then it has to go with it. And Florida state law expressly gives the power to remove the tube under those circumstances.

We can criticize the findings of fact in this case, but once they were established and upheld on appeal, the law was applied correctly.

The puzzling thing is that the Schindlers were allowed to try the case all over from scratch in federal court with new findings of fact, and they chose not to do it!

Did you see Dr Death on Hannity last night?

All the Schindlers lawyer??????, has to do is take a tape of that interview to Justice Kennedy and say, the finding of PVS in this case is in dispute. We need a review and medical testing to firmly establish that fact.

Keenedy would have to oreder a de novo review by the lower court. Thats is how bad this guy was.

I know beans about the legalities, but I thought that Congress required it by using the de novo language in its legislation.

And judging from what Rep. Curt Weldon (R-FL) said on FNC this morning, it sounds as though the federal judiciary has been blowing it off.

Just had Rep Weldon on Fox & Friends. He said the President Bush has to have legal authority to issue such an Order. He said that he is sure that the Justice Department has briefed the President and probably does not. Rep Weldon has been a advocate for Terri. He sponsored a bill in Congress that would have forced the Federal Courts to Review Terri's case & put her back on the feeding tube. So even though President Bush MAY have no legal standing to issue an Executive Order, IMHO so what. What I mean is that its unclear if the President has the power to do so. Lets save Terri & have the Supreme Court overrule the President. One other thought that I had regarding this legal fight is that the Democrats want President Bush to issue an Executive Order so that they can claim an abuse of power & try to impeach him. If I were Bush, I would say let them try & do the right thing.
